I'll dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote next month's bout.
Ex two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
