In a unexpected collaboration that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Uncovered
According to the formal release, "An unusual meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of banned practices and terrifying transformations echo through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret sect.
The questline focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana alongside several artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This update also adds the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
